Yashasvi Jaiswal has got his best birthday present. The young southpaw who turned 22 today was a goner in the first ball of India’s 2nd innings in the IND vs SA 1st Test. A wonderful ball from Kagiso Rabada saw Jaiswal edging it to second slip, only for Aiden Markram to drop a sitter.
After failing to score big in the first innings, he was on his way back in the first ball that he faced in the second innings. Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar was quick to retort that the Proteas have given a birthday present to Yashasvi Jaiswal.
“A birthday present for Yashavi Jaiswal,” exclaimed Sanjay Manjrekar while commentating in the game.
The first ball in the new innings and it was a tesing delivery from Kagiso Rabada. A full length delivery angles into the stumps. Jaiswal gets a bit nervous and goes on to square the shot. The ball takes a big egde and carries away from the batter. The ball comfortably travels to Markram at second slip who drops it.
But South Africa didn’t have to worry a lot. He added just 5 runs including a glorious cover drive. But a wicked bouncer from Nandre Burger was enough to dispatch the youngster.
Burger has dispatched Jaiswal on both innings. An unplayable delivery which kept on rising constantly. Jaiswal moved away but the ball took a slight nick at Jaiswal’s gloved before carrying to the keeper.
