IND vs AUS Women 1st ODI: Batting first, India has set a great target for a dominant Australian side led by Alyssa Healy. Having already suffered a blow before the match with Smriti Mandhana not playing, the India women’s cricket team struggled.
After losing their top five batters for 134, it looked like the Women in Blue would not even cross the 200-run mark, but Jemimah Rodrigues and Pooja Vastrakar had other things in mind.
Coming in when India was 57/3, Jemimah scored 82 off 77 and saw her side cross 250 by the time she was dismissed. Vastrakar played the match-changing innings, though; her 62 of 46 saw her enter at 182/7 and remain unbeaten as India scored 100 runs in the last 74 balls.
However, Australian batters made short work of the 283-run target. Despite Sneh Rana‘s brilliance in the first over of the chase, it was all one-way traffic. Three of the six Australian batters that played scored fifties as the visitors cruised to an easy 6-wicket victory in the IND vs AUS 1st ODI.
