IND vs SA: India fans left ‘surprised’ to see skipper Rohit Sharma fielding in short leg

India fans left 'surprised' to see skipper Rohit Sharma fielding in short leg at the IND vs SA Centurion Test instead of a junior player.

India fans were left surprised to see India Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma fielding in a short leg position during the Day 2 of the first IND vs SA 1st Test. While the position is generally reserved for the newbies of Test cricket, India captain did not mind taking up the spot that was earlier reserved for someone like Shubman Gill or Yashasvi Jaiswal.

However, seeing Rohit Sharma in a new role, the India Cricket fans had quite some spectacular reactions. While some lauded him for versatility, others couldn’t help but hit back at his poor outing in the IND vs SA Test.

Here are some of the reactions:

KL Rahul’s brilliant century off 133 balls took India to a total of 245. Virat Kohli contributed a valuable 38 runs, while Shreyas Iyer managed to score 31. However, Rohit Sharma could only muster a mere 5 runs off 14 balls.
