Aiming for global domination in franchise cricket, Super Kings launch academy in Dallas

The Super Kings had acquired the Texas Super Kings earlier in the year.

The Super Kings are one of the most successful franchises in cricket. With the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), they have found incredible success in the Indian Premier League (IPL). They further bolstered their power in franchise cricket by acquiring the Joburg Super Kings in SA20 and the Texas Super Kings in the new Major League Cricket (MLC).

Now, the Super Kings franchise has decided to take it to the next level. After the success of MLC, the Super Kings launched their academy in Lewisville, Dallas, Texas. The idea behind opening the academy is to promote grassroots cricket in their MLC home base.

“We’re super-excited about bringing Super Kings Academy to the USA and see a tremendous potential for the growth of the sport, our ability to contribute to the grassroots cricket to take it more mainstream, and taking existing talent to the next level. Dallas being the home-base for Texas Super Kings, we’re even more thrilled to launch our first academy there, as it creates strong synergies with our long-term plans in the market,” said Louis Mariano, Director of Cricket at the Super Kings Academy to Cricbuzz.
