Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar voiced his concerns over Rohit Sharma’s struggle to control pull shot instinct in Test cricket. Rohit was looking good at the middle before he mistimed a pull shot off Kagiso Rabada’s delivery to hand a simple catch to long leg fielder.
Manjrekar said that Rohit Sharma will have to find a solution to control his pull instinct in the longest format to play long innings.

“Rohit will have to think about what to do with this shot in Test cricket”, Manjrekar said while commentating on Star Sports.
The Indian opener, who has amassed plenty runs while playing the pull shot in limited overs, has struggled to find the same success in red-ball format.
In his last 20 Test innings away from home since 2021, Rohit Sharma has been dismissed playing the pull shot 7 times.
Notably, the 36-year-old is yet to score a Test half-century or century on the South African soil. In 9 innings, the Indian skipper has managed to scored just 128 runs at an average of just over 15.
