IND vs SA Test: Desperate to win and get results, Rohit Sharma to go all guns blazing against South Africa

Ahead of the IND vs SA 1st Test, India Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma has claimed that the team is ‘Desperate’ to win the series. With a lot at stake, team India will be raring to go at the Proteas. While the prangs of the ODI World Cup final loss still fresh, Rohit and Co are keen to break India’s 31 year jinx in the Final Frontier.

A lot of pressure is on Rohit Sharma after failing to win ICC tournaments despite having arguably the best team in the World Cup. India lost the T20 World Cup last year, WTC Final, ODI World Cup this season and the loss hurts. Rohit has claimed that nothing can compensate the ODI World Cup loss, but the South Africa tour is no less important.

“We’ve never won a Test series in South Africa, if we win the series, I don’t know if it can compensate for the World Cup loss. World Cup is a World Cup, we can’t compare. We have worked so hard, so we need something, something big. And everyone is desperate for it. We have the tools and I hope we perform well. We want to play freely and not think much,” said Rohit Sharma at the Pre Match Press Conference.

India has never won a Test series in the rainbow and will be keen to break the 31 year jinx this time. Rohit is desperate to win as at the end of the day, result is all that matters. He has claimed that everyone in the team is desperate to perform and India will strongly give a reply to the critics.

“Desperation is always there to play good cricket. Everybody wants to do well. Whenever we get opportunity, we want to do well. Everybody is keen on it. I know what you are trying to say. Milega, aapko jawab milega uska (you will get the answer to it soon),” Rohit added.

Everybody is desperate for that, not just the senior players. I hope we do well in the series, we have the tools to do it. We have to try and have fun. We want to play freely,” Rohit concluded.
