The PCB and their former leg-spinner Danish Kaneria have been at loggerheads for quite some time now, ever since the latter opened up about his struggles in the Pakistani side, a few years back. This time the board has struck back and hit Kaneria where it hurts the most. Kaneria allegedly accused the PCB of removing his records, while sharing some stats of Pakistani bowlers in Australia.
The list includes some of the greats of the game like Wasim Akram, Imran Khan, Sarfraz Nawaz, and Saqlain Mushtaq. This has irked the former leggie, as he claims, he has 24 wickets Down Under and still did not find a mention in the shared list.
He wrote on X, “Just look at the audacity of Pakistan Cricket Board. I took 24 wickets in 5 matches in Australia but they removed my name from the list. The living example of sheer discrimination against me.”
It is important to note that Kaneria, who represented Pakistan for several years, was banned by the ECB for life after his involvement in spot-fixing came to the fore in 2012.
