Luna’s absence leaves a gaping hole in Coach Ivan Vukomanovic’s side, currently second in the league and chasing the prestigious ISL League Shield. Renowned for his creativity and work ethic, the 29-year-old’s contribution on and off the field will be sorely missed. The club confirmed exploring options to replace Luna in the January transfer window.
Despite the setback, the Blasters showcased resilience in their last match, edging past Punjab FC to solidify their second-place position. They face another stiff test on December 24 as they host fellow League Shield contenders Mumbai City FC.
Luna is also set to miss the upcoming Kalinga Super Cup starting from January 9th.
Whether Kerala Blasters can maintain their title challenge without their influential talisman remains a burning question. However, their fighting spirit and Vukomanovic’s tactical acumen could prove enough to overcome this adversity and achieve their goals
