As per reports from The Indian Express, SKY has a grade II tear on his ankle and is set to miss action for around 7 weeks. SKY rolled his ankle during the IND vs SA 3rd T20I and limped out of the ground and was attended by the Indian team physios.

“He will take some time to recover. He will have to report to the National Cricket Academy later to do his rehabilitation. He is surely going to miss the Afghanistan series,” a source told The Indian Express.

However, after the match SKY claimed that he is okay and is walking fine. But the player who returned from South Africa underwent scans on his ankle. The scans revealed a grade II tear and he would need atleast 7 weeks to be fit.

The Indian Cricket Team has been dealt with a big blow. India are slated to play just 3 T20I matches before the 2024 T20 World Cup. With SKY missing the three matches at home against the Afghans is a big setback for the Men in Blue.
