IND vs AUS Test: India Women had an excellent outing on Day 1 of the IND vs AUS 1st Test being played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. were on the attacking mode since the first ball as the mighty Australia failed to put up a fight against the home side on the first day of IND vs AUS Test.

Vastrakar scalped four wickets

Speaking more about the IND vs AUS Test, the visitors won the toss and opted to have a bat first. Australia Women suffered a blow in the very first over of the match as Phoebe Litchfield got run out without facing a single delivery. The Aussies also lost their second wicket quickly as veteran Ellyse Perry (4 runs) was cleaned up by Pooja Vastrakar.

Some decent contributions from the likes of Beth Mooney (40 runs), Tahlia McGrath (50 runs), and skipper Alyssa Healy (38 runs) meant that the visitors managed to breach the 200-run mark before getting bundled out for just 219 runs in their first innings.

For India Women, pacer Vastrakar was superb with the ball as she grabbed a four-wicket haul in just 16 overs. Apart from her, spinner Sneh Rana (three wickets) and veteran Deepti Sharma (two wickets) were also among the wickets.

Coming out to bat, Indian openers including Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana stitched an excellent 90-run partnership for the opening wicket. Shafali Verma (40 runs) was the first one to depart for India. At stumps on Day 1, team India are 98/1 with Smriti Mandhana (43*) and Sneh Rana (4*) set to resume the proceedings on Day 2.
