The IPL 2024 Auction might be over but it’s not over yet for player transfers. The second IPL trade window has officially reopened today i.e. December 20. Hence, franchises can still complete trade deals. The window will remain open until 30 days before the tournament begins.
While eight out of 10 teams have a full 25-member squad, they can still trade players. For example, if a franchise picks a player who they want to trade with someone else from another franchise, they can go ahead and do that officially.
However, teams that have completed 25-member squads, cannot go for an all-cash deal. Instead, they will need to go for player swap deals. Those teams can still add cash to the transfers should they have funds left in the salary purse.
As for IPL 2024 Auction, a total of 72 players were sold for a combined price of Rs 230.45 Crore.
