So Sorry, Titans: Mallika Sagar goofs up again at IPL 2024 Auction

IPL 2024 Auction: Another goof up from Mallika Sagar, IPL Auctioneer mixes up Gujarat Titans for Gujarat Giants

IPL 2024 Auctioneer Mallika Sagar made another goof up in during the auction. She got confused and made an unintentional error to name Gujarat Titans as Gujarat Giants. The incident took place during the closing stage of the bidding war between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals for Spencer Johnson.

Mistakenly Mallika Sagar went on to say a couple of times that Spencer Johnson joins Gujarat Titans for a sum of 10 crore. Moments later she understood her mistake and apologised for the same.

Gujarat Giants is a team, just not in the Indian Premier League. The Giants are a kabaddi team that participates in the Pro Kabaddi League. With the two team names sounding alike, it was a slip of the tongue for the IPL 2024 Auctioneer.

Earlier, during the bidding war for M Siddharth, Mallika Sagar made a big mistake. While Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore engaged in an exciting war, the auctioneer got confused with the 95 lakh bid.

She remained confounded for a brief moment before regaining her gesture. She quickly clarified the right bid price for the player before continuing the bids to pour in. In the end, LSG got their player for a price of 2.4 crore.

Mallika Sagar on the other hand created history when she became the first women auctioneer to conduct an Indian Premier League Auction. Last season, she conducted the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction and then repeated the same for the new season.
