Christmas came early for New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell, who was bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2024 auction on Tuesday in Dubai.
CSK signed Mitchell for Rs 14 crore after an intense bidding war.
The bidding war started between DC and PBKS before CSK swooped in to get the in-form Kiwi all-rounder.
The 32-year-old had an impressive outing in the 2023 ODI World Cup which tempted the three franchises to went all-in for him.
Mitchell, who was picked by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 75 Lakh in IPL 2022 auction. But the all-rounder failed to make an impact in the two seasons he played and was released by the RR franchise ahead of IPL 2024 auction.
Darly Mitchell has played 56 matches in T20 internationals scoring 1069 runs with a strike-rate of 137.23.
