IPL 2024 Auction: It’s confirmed, Rishabh Pant to be part of Delhi Capitals auction team

RIshabh Pant had last played an IPL match in May 22, against Mumbai Indians, where the latter won by five wickets.

It will not just be Sourav Ganguly who will be attending the IPL 2024 Auction for Delhi Capitals on Tuesday, but the former India skipper will be joined by Rishabh Pant. The southpaw who has been out of action for the last one year due to an accident, is on the road to recovery and will be part of the IPL Auction.

As per a report in Sportstar, Pant, an integral part of the Delhi franchise, has been attending the pre-auction meetings over the last two days. Meanwhile, a member of the ownership group confirmed the same. This would be the first time in the history of IPL that an active player attends the IPL Auction. Also, it is a clear indication that the hard-hitting batsman will be back for the IPL 2024, starting March 22.

“It is something new and exciting. I haven’t been a part of the auction process before. I am looking forward to it,” he said in a video posted by Delhi Capitals.

Rishabh Pant’s Record in IPL

Pant had made his IPL debut in 2016 and has played in 98 matches since then. In those matches, he has scored 2838 runs overall, at a strike rate of 147.97. He had missed the entire IPL 2023, due to the injuries sustained in a car crash.
