The wait is finally over! The Kolkata Derby will eventually take place in January.

The Kolkata Derby holds immense significance, regardless of the tournament it is part of. Although not in the ISL, the Kolkata Giants, Mohun Bagan and East Bengal will finally face each other in the Kalinga Super Cup after a long. Even though the game will not be in Kolkata, with the city known for the heightened emotions of its football patrons, the excitement surrounding the match remains palpable.

Kolkata Derby in Kalinga Super Cup:

Fans have been waiting for the Kolkata Derby for a long time now. Scheduled on 28th October of this season, the Kolkata Derby was postponed due to the unavailability of adequate security. However, the Kalinga Super Cup comes at the right time. The draw placing Mohun Bagan Super Giant and East Bengal in Group A intensifies the excitement, especially following the highly contested Kolkata Derby in the Durand Cup Final this season.

In a notable draw, arch-rivals Mohun Bagan Super Giant and East Bengal find themselves in Group A, alongside Hyderabad FC, setting the stage for an eagerly anticipated Kolkata Derby. The two teams have scores to settle with each claiming a derby win this year, however, Mohun Bagan did bag an electrifying win to become the Durand Cup champions.
