Australia name 13-man squad for Boxing Day Test vs Pakistan, release pacer

Australia have trimmed their 14-member squad to 13 for the Boxing Day Test against Pakistan after taking a 1-0 lead in the series

Riding high on a win in the 1st Test, Australia have named the same squad for the Boxing Day Test against Pakistan. The hosts made just one change to their squad, releasing pacer Lance Morris who will take part in the BBL. AUS will now have a 13-member squad for the 2nd Test instead of 14.

I don’t think injuries are going to be an issue, so I dare say it will be a pretty similar line-up at this stage,” Cummins said of the XI who will play in the Boxing Day Test.

“I think all the bowlers are pretty fresh after (the win in Perth). It’s basically the ideal start to the summer.”

Australia squad: Pat Cummins (c), Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitch Marsh, Steve Smith, Mitch Starc, David Warner

Meanwhile, Shan Masood and Co. will be playing a two-day practice match against Victoria XI ahead of the Boxing Day Test against Australia in Melbourne. Pakistan Cricket team suffered a humiliating loss at the hands of the home side in the first Test.
