A total of 333 players will go under the hammer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Auction, scheduled in Dubai on Tuesday (December 19) at the Coca-Cola Arena. The IPL 2024 Auction Live Streaming will be accessible on the JioCinema app and the website, beginning at 1:00 PM IST.
There are 77 slots available, with 30 of them reserved for overseas players. Notably, 23 players have registered in the Rs 2 crore bracket, while 13 have chosen the Rs 1.5 crore slot. Among the 333 players, 214 are Indians, and 119 are overseas players, including two from associate nations. The total number of capped players is 116, and uncapped players amount to 215. This marks the first instance of an IPL auction being conducted outside the country.

In terms of team budgets, Gujarat Titans enter the auction with the highest purse of Rs 38.15 crore, while Rajasthan Royals have the least with Rs 14.5 crore. Noteworthy among the trades is Hardik Pandya’s move from Gujarat Titans to Mumbai Indians, generating considerable buzz. The five-time IPL champions have also announced Pandya as their new captain for IPL 2024, succeeding Rohit Sharma. However, notably, the IPL 2024 trade window will again open on December 20th, and will run till February, for some last-minute shapeshift for the teams
