No! Chetan Sakariya is not in the list of bowlers with suspect action, BCCI admits error

Chetan Sakariya was recently released by the Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2024 Auction.

The BCCI has taken a U-turn after naming Chetan Sakariya in the list of bowlers reported for a suspect action. In a report from Cricbuzz, BCCI had unintentionally named Chetan Sakariya instead of a Karnataka-based bowler who is also named Chetan. Earlier, BCCI had identified seven players with a suspect action but they were not banned from bowling.

After an inquiry from the Saurashtra cricket management with BCCI, the situation is being resolved now. “It was a sort of miscommunication and error, and Chetan has never been called, and he is not on that list. I understand that the name of a Karnataka bowler should have been there, and the IPL is addressing the issue. The franchises are also being duly informed,” Jaydev Shah, the president of SCA, told Cricbuzz on Saturday (December 16).

Chetan Sakariya was recently released by the Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2024 Auction. He has a base price of INR 50 lakhs but Sakariya is not in the final auction list.

Additionally, Manish Pandey and KL Shrijith, both from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), have been banned from bowling.
