Disgruntled Ahmad Shahzad bids adieu to PSL, accuses all 6 teams of ‘keeping him away’

Ahmad Shehzad claimed that he was deliberately kept out of the PSL as teams were opting for inferior players over performers

Pakistan batter Ahmad Shahzad bid goodbye to the PSL after levelling explosive allegations against the league and the teams. Announcing his decision on social media on Friday, Shahzad claimed that he had taken the call after not appearing on the PSL draft for a consecutive time. In his farewell note, the batter accused all six PSL teams to have colluded in order to keep him away from the game.

Ahmad claimed that inferior players were opted for instead of performers such as himself, citing his performance in the National T20 Cup. He claimed that he knew why exactly he had been kept out of the league and that the country and the fans would soon get to know about it.

PSL Player Draft 2024

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Players Draft 2024 took place on December 13 at National Cricket Academy, Lahore.

All the the six franchises – Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United and Karachi Kings – completed their 18-member squads for the ninth edition of PSL.

A total of 485 players were shortlisted for the PSL 2024 Draft. The likes of Kieron Pollard, David Willey, Reece Topley were available in the top category of the draft. A total of 108 were drafted by six franchises for the PSL9.
