Travis Head opens up on wild World Cup celebrations, reveals he ignored social media

Travis Head, who was a part of Australia's WTC squad, played a crucial role for the side with the bat in the World Cup 2023

Australia’s Travis Head opened up on his wild celebrations after the side won their sixth World Cup less than a month ago in Ahmedabad. The swashbuckling opener, who played his first ODI World Cup, was a star for the side in their historic campaign. The batter offered an insight into how it felt transitioning from the celebrations to getting match-ready once again for the PAK vs AUS Tests.

Travis Head reveals he ignored social media after World Cup win

As per Fox News, Head revealed that he did enjoy his World Cup celebrations and that he wasn’t bothered by social media for days to follow. He further noted that while he had a ‘quiet’ experience after the WTC win, clinching the World Cup was a ‘new concept’. As the focus shifts to PAK vs AUS Tests, Head admitted that he was overawed by the celebrations.

I did. I didn’t help myself with some of the stuff that came on social media over the few days,” Head said.

“I got caught up in the emotions a little bit, but honestly I couldn’t wrap my head around what happened and all the emotions and everything that went into it and how big it was.

“I’d never played in a World Cup so the experience I had winning the World Test Championship, it was a little bit quiet with it being a new concept but a one-day world cup is what everyone dreams of playing in and winning.

“To then come in so quickly and all it to be such a blur, I think I was a bit overawed by the whole situation and I enjoyed three or four days (celebrating).
