After heroic run, No.1 T20I bowler Ravi Bishnoi dropped from IND vs SA 2nd T20I

Ravi Bishnoi ended up as the leading wicket-taker in his last T20I series outing for India against the mighty Aussies.

The No.1 ranked T20I bowler, Ravi Bishnoi failed to get his place in the ongoing IND vs SA 2nd T20I. Team India decided to go with Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav as Bishnoi was benched for the IND vs SA 2nd T20I. It must be mentioned that Ravi Bishnoi had a terrific run in the recently concluded IND vs AUS T20Is as he finished as the leading wicket-taker in the series. Despite that, the young leggie was left out from the playing XI.

Bishnoi scalped nine wickets in just three matches against the Aussies. His efforts meant that he ended up as the leading wicket-taker in the series. Thanks to his efforts with the ball, Bishnoi also climbed up to the top spot for the T20I bowler’s rankings. However, the senior duo of Jadeja and Kuldeep were picked ahead of Bishnoi in the ongoing IND vs SA 2nd T20I.

Speaking about Ravi Bishnoi’s numbers in the T20I format, the 23-year-old has played 21 games and scalped 34 wickets. Bishnoi averages 17.38 in T20Is and bowls at an economy rate of 7.18.

India batting first in IND vs SA

Speaking about the toss, South Africa won the toss and invited the visitors to have a bat first in Port Elizabeth. “Very happy to be here and happy to know there’s some cricket around. We were confused what to do, but now we are very happy to bat first. It’s an opportunity for everyone playing this game. World Cup is still 5-6 months away. Just enjoy yourself is the message to the team,” said skipper Suryakumar Yadav.
