Vijay Hazare Trophy semifinals, final to be played under lights for first time

The two semi-finals – Tamil Nadu vs Haryana, Karnataka vs Rajasthan – and final of Vijay Hazare Trophy will played under lights.

In a groundbreaking move, the Vijay Hazare Trophy is set to witness a historic shift as the semi-finals and final will be played under lights at the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) Stadium in Rajkot. This will be the first time, that cricket will be played under the floodlights on a domestic level. The Vijay Hazare semifinals are scheduled for December 13 and 14.

SCA president Jaydev Shah expressed his delight: “It’s a good initiative. We had suggested to the BCCI to use the floodlights for domestic cricket. We’re happy that Jay bhai (Jay Shah) accepted our suggestion.”

On December 13, Haryana will Tamil Nadu in the first semi-final, followed by Karnataka against Rajasthan on December 14. The Vijay Hazare Trophy final showdown is set for December 16. Notably, all the league games adhered to the traditional day format.

On the other side, Haryana will rely on their strong batting line-up, with Ankit Kumar in fine form after his match-winning century against Bengal.
