Ahead of the WPL 2024 auction on December 9, 165 cricketers from all over the globe have put their names in the auction hat. The WPL auction list features players from 15 countries and filters them into three categories: capped, uncapped, and associate. The reserved prices for capped players (those who have played international cricket) are fixed at a minimum of ₹ 30 lakh. While the uncapped and associate players will get a minimum of ₹ 10 lakh.
Among the capped players, Indian stars like Veda Krishnamurthy, Punam Raut, and Meghna Singh will go under the hammer. Chamari Athapaththu, Deandra Dottin, and Shabnim Ismail are among the international superstars who’ll try to attract a big bid.
Out of 165 players who have put their name in, 15 fall under the associate category, 94 are uncapped, and the remaining 56 are capped. Players as young as 18 like Nisha Saina will join veterans of the game like Ekta Bisht, who is 20 years their senior, in the WPL 2024 auction.

The five teams have retained 60 players (39 Indian and 21 overseas) in total. This means that only 30 players (21 Indian and 9 overseas) out of 165 players who have put their names in the auction can be bought.
