David Warner called for Test swansong, Morris set for debut vs Pakistan

David Warner receives the call for Perth Test, while pacer Lance Morris is set for his debut.

David Warner has secured a spot in Australia’s squad for the first of three home Tests against Pakistan (AUS vs PAK). The squad, revealed on Sunday, specifically covers the opening Test scheduled in Perth from December 14 to 19. Additionally, pacer Lance Morris is on the verge of earning his maiden Test cap, having been recalled to Australia’s Test squad for the upcoming series.

The squad includes Cameron Green, who ceded his place to Mitch Marsh during the Ashes. Alex Carey has retained his position as the wicket-keeper, despite facing exclusion from the one-day team during the World Cup.

Scott Boland is also part of the squad, and Nathan Lyon returns, having recovered from a calf injury that sidelined him during the Ashes series. Notably, the squad announcement omits the naming of a specialist back-up batter, heightening anticipation for the Prime Minister’s XI clash in Canberra.
