Both Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan will get a much-deserved break after a long World Cup and five-match IND vs AUS T20 series. The two have been away since the West Indies tour. While SKY will get a long break after the three-match IND vs SA T20 series, Ishan Kishan will again be on a long tour. He will be in the T20I and Test squads. India Cricket Team will leave for South Africa this week from Mumbai ahead of the series opener on Sunday (Dec 10).
With T20I in focus, Suryakumar Yadav will have a big responsibility to further fine-tune the squad after winning his maiden T20I series as Indian captain.
As for Ishan Kishan, he will play in the ODI and Test series after he was rested from the T20 series.
Players in focus in IND vs SA
In T20Is, a lot of focus will be on Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, and Deepak Chahar who will be returning in the format. While Chahar did play a game in the IND vs AUS series, he had to fly back home due to a medical emergency. the three-match T20I series will be an opportunity to prove himself once again.
Washington Sundar who could play a crucial role as an off-spin all-rounder will also be in focus. He had to warm the bench in all five matches in the Australia series. If he gets a chance in the three-match IND vs SA T20 series, he will have to cash in with Ravi Bishnoi in red-hot form. Ravindra Jadeja returning to T20Is will also complicate his chances of making the India Playing XI.
Even though ODI is not an area of focus at present, players like Sanju Samson and Axar Patel will be in focus.
