4 unanswered questions in IND vs AUS series ahead of T20 World Cup

India won the T20I series against Australia by 4-1. The IND vs AUS has many positives and there were few problems that India need to solve.

India’s series win against Australia by 4-1 has many positive but there are a few issues that India need to address before the T20 World Cup which will be hosted by the West Indies and the United States from 4 June to 30 June 2024. The IND vs AUS series was important to build a strong squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. So, let us look at the outcomes from the series.

The Indian team did dominate the series. The openers were in fine touch, spin bowlers bowled exceptionally well. But, a few questions are still unanswered. Let us look at the four such problems in the team.

Indian Pitches

India played the whole series on a batters-friendly pitch. But, the T20 World Cup 2024 will be hosted in the West Indies and USA. The West Indies pitches are not favorable for batters. The pitches there are dry and comparatively slow-surfaced. Since India played in pitches were first innings had the lowest total of 160. India has not explored the ground which are little slow and dry and therefore we do not know how will they perform in those pitches.

Pacers

Insidesport

Indian pacers were not the highlight of the IND vs AUS series. Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, and Mukesh Kumar delivered average performance. Our fast bowlers must pick up form as they will be key in foreign grounds.

Who will play at Number 3?

We have plenty of option to explore for number three, but the question, who will be the best fix. Virat Kohli prefers playing at his favorite third spot. India tried Ishaan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer at the same position in the IND vs AUS series. Both were impressive in the series, so it will be a little difficult to choose the best batter at number three.

Bench strength

After winning the series in the fourth game itself by 3-1, India could have checked their bench strength in the last and inconsequential match. But India did not change the Playing XI in the last match. Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar were not given a single game in the series.
