It is a new journey for the Pakistan Cricket Team. After the rumbles and the shuffles post-ODI World Cup, the Men in Green will face Australia for a 3-match Test series. Following the ICC World Cup 2023, Babar Azam has stepped down from his captaincy role whereas there have been changes in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Selection Committee.
The Pakistan Cricket Team will play a warm-up match against Prime Ministers XI at Canberra from 6th December. Ahead of the big away tour, former Pakistan Cricket Team captain Wasim Akram has given some special advice not just to the team but also to the board. The Sultan of Swing has asked the team to be brave and the board to stick with their decisions and give everyone at least a year before judging the work.
“The Pakistan team has reached Australia, wish them all the luck. Best wishes especially for the new additions, like Wahab Riaz the new Chief selector, and Kamran Akmal, the consultant member to the chief selector. Let’s give them time. They are present cricketers, now it is their time, let’s give them 1 year. One more advice, don’t call press conferences every 3 minutes, stick to your decisions,” said Wasim Akram in a video that he posted on social media.
Wasim Akram then went on to emphasize how time should be given to the new captains and the new appointments on the board. “If you have taken a decision then you should know about the consequences. If you are in two minds, so will be the team. Stick to your decisions and be brave,” concluded Akram.
