Olympian Neeraj Chopra had a friendly piece of advice for his favourite bowler Jasprit Bumrah in order to improve his pace. Speaking at the Indian Express’ Idea Exchange, Chopra revealed that he was in awe of the fiery pacer and his unique action. The Olympian also spoke about his experience of watching the World cup 2023 finals between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Neeraj Chopra’s advice for Jasprit Bumrah
Referring to his experience as a javelin thrower, Neeraj Chopra advised Bumrah to lengthen his run-up in order to add more pace. He went on to add as to how javelin throwers had discussions about how bowlers could improve their speed.
“I like Jasprit Bumrah, I find his action unique,” he said on the Indian Express’ Idea Exchange.
“I feel he should lengthen his run-up to add more pace,” he said.
“As a javelin thrower, we often discuss how bowlers can increase their pace if they start their run-up from a little further back. I like Bumrah’s style.”

Neeraj Chopra, India’s ace Javelin Thrower has a strong liking for cricket. The reigning World and Olympic champion was recently asked to name the most stylish cricketer according to him. He went on to name three cricketers. However, his picks might come as a bit of a surprise as it does not feature the likes of MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, and KL Rahul.
