Suryakumar Yadav-led India are off to South Africa to play three T20Is starting from December 10. The second-string team departed from Benglaru after successfully defeating Australia 4-1 in a five-match T20 series. Rinku Singh led the charge by taking out selfies in the airport and on the plane. Along with the southpaw, Arshdeep Singh, Tilak Varma, Mohammed Siraj, and Kuldeep Yadav joined.
This will be Rinku’s first tour to South Africa. Apart from the 26-year-old batter, the likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Arshdeep Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Ravi Bishnoi will also be playing first time in South Africa. Naturally, all are excited and clicked enough photos and selfies ahead of the Proteas tour.
All these young players are in contention to play the T20 World Cup next year in June 2204. Gaikwad, Bishnoi, Jitesh Sharma, Jaiswal, and Mukesh Kumar had a good T20 series preceding the South Africa series. With the Ajith Agarkar-led selectional panel heavily investing in youth in T20Is, these players have a golden chance to dominate South Africa, in their own backyard.
