Rinku Singh has played only 10 T20Is for India, in those, he has batted only six times, but the impact that the southpaw has had in these matches is simply incredible, to say the least. Such is the 26-year-old’s finishing prowess that he has forced every expert and critic to include him in the T20 World Cup squad. Aakash Chopra opines Rinku the finisher, should definitely be selected in the T20 World Cup squad, as there are very few who can play his role in the current Indian team.
“Rinku is a very good player, second thing he is a very good finisher, as he is batting in that role for KKR in IPL as well. Also, very few from the current Indian team like to bat in the lower middle order. So that’s a huge advantage Rinku has. I genuinely feel he should be kept in the scheme of things for the World Cup. Also, he is a left-hand batter, and we need more of such batters during the World Cup. I definitely see him in the World Cup squad,” Akash Chopra said on his YouTube Channel.
In the recent T20 series against Australia, Rinku was dismissed only once in the five matches. In five T20Is, the southpaw managed to score 105 runs at a scarcely unbelievable strike rate of over 170. The 26-year-old’s ability to hit effortless sixes during death overs consistently has made everyone go gaga.

Will Rinku Singh make the T20 World Cup squad?
With only six T20Is to go before the World Cup, the southpaw is surely giving a tough time for the Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel. Rinku is also selected for the T20 tour to South Africa. For now, the selectors are willing to give a longer rope to the KKR superstar. With Hardik Pandya also out with an ankle injury, India does not have a proper finisher in the T20Is.
If Rinku manages to put on an impressive display with bat in hand against Proteas, then it would definitely be hard for selectors to include him in the T20 World Cup squad.
