‘Taking next step together’ Chetan Sakariya gets engaged ahead of IPL 2024 Auction

‘Taking the next step together and we’ve decided on forever,’ Chetan Sakariya wrote on his Instagram account.

Former Delhi Capitals pacer Chetan Sakariya on Tuesday (December 5) got engaged. The left-arm pacer went on to upload a pic on social media handles with his partner as he captioned the post ‘Taking the next step together and we’ve decided on forever’. To note, Chetan Sakariya will be up for the grabs in the upcoming IPL 2024 Auction after DC released him recently.

Thanks to his IPL debut antics in 2021, Chetan Sakariya bagged a contract with Delhi Capitals for INR 4.2 crores in the IPL 2022 mega auction. However, the left-arm pacer got very minimal chances to represent DC in the IPL. Before playing for the Capitals, Sakariya represented Rajasthan Royals in his debut season.

Speaking about Chetan Sakariya’s numbers in IPL, the left-arm pacer has played 19 games and scalped 20 wickets at an average of 29.95. Sakariya has an economy rate of 8.44. Speaking about his international numbers, the 25-year-old has played two T20Is and an ODI taking three wickets in total.

As stated above, Sakariya will be available in the upcoming IPL 2024 Auction. The likes of Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and even Gujarat Titans are lacking a good left-arm seamer in their ranks. As a result, they might target Chetan Sakariya in the upcoming IPL auction.

Apart from Sakariya, a total of 1166 players have registered for the auction, of which 830 are Indians and the rest 336 are overseas players. The list also includes 212 capped players, 909 uncapped players, and 45 associate players. The IPL auction is set to be held at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.
