The India Cricket Team contingent on Thursday arrived in South Africa to kick off their IND vs SA tour. The Indian team will play in T20Is, One Day Internationals, and Tests against the South African team over the next two months. However, some players of the Indian team players were seen carrying the suitcases over their heads.
The incident happened when the Indian contingent was moving towards the team bus. The BCCI shared the video on X (previously Twitter). The video captured the Indian team’s journey from India to South Africa.
Upon reaching Durban, some players were seen carrying their suitcases over their heads. However, since it was raining in Durban, the Indian players were only trying to protect their heads while running toward the team bus. It is in sharp contrast to what Pakistan faced upon reaching Sydney a few days ago.
A viral video had surfaced in which Pakistani players were seen loading their luggage onto a container truck at Sydney Airport. However, Shaheen Afridi had later explained that the Pakistan team were helping each other due to time constraints. According to Afridi, the team had a flight to catch.
The Indian contingent will start off their South Africa tour with the first T20I on 10th December in Durban. The other matches of the T20I series will be played in Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg on December 12th and 14th respectively.
The Indian team had no such constraints as their Pakistan counterparts. They were only looking to save themselves from incessant Durban rains.
