The Gautam Gambhir-S Sreesanth saga is now taking an ugly turn, drawing more people in. Sreesanth’s wife Bhuvneswari is the latest one to comment on the controversy, questioning Gambhir’s upbringing to slam the former India opener.
Sreesanth, a former India fast bowler, had hit out at his former teammate and captain Gautam Gambhir after the latter accused him of being a “fixer” during a Legends League Cricket game in Surat. Gambhir is the skipper of India Capitals, while Sreesanth plays for Gujarat Giants in the tournament.
After the match, Sreesanth posted an Instagram video that said, “Without any provocation, he kept on calling me something which was very rude and shouldn’t have been said by Gautam Gambhir.”
“I am not at all at fault, I wanted to clear the air straight away. The things he said on a cricket field live is not acceptable… He kept calling me, ‘ Fixer, fixer, you are a fixer … f*** off fixer. “
Gambhir posted a cryptic tweet soon after, which said, “Smile when the World is all about attention.”

Now, Sreesanth’s wife has dived into the controversy, in defence of her husband. Commenting on Sreesanth’s Instagram video, she said, “It is so shocking to hear from Sree that a player who has played for India with him for many years can stoop to this level. Even after so many years of retirement from Active cricket.
“After all upbringing matters a lot and it shows up when this kind of behaviour comes up on the ground. Shocking truly shocking,” Bhuvneshwari added. Now, it remains to be seen if Gambhir comes up with a reply after Bhuvneshwari’s vicious attack.
