New PKL season, and nothing seems to be going right for Telugu Titans once again. In the last three seasons they have played miserably, and in PKL 2023, they have started in the worst possible manner. After losing to Gujarat Giants in their first Pro Kabaddi 2023 encounter, the Titans lost 28-50 to Patna Pirates, in a one-sided affair.
Even though skipper Pawan Sehrawat did score 11 points on the day, it was just not enough, as other Titans players failed. The most expensive player of the Pro Kabaddi, Pawan could not save his side from a humiliating defeat. In fact, one of the best raiders in the league, Pawan was tackled seven times by the Patna defence.
On one occasion, when Pawan went for a raid, it just looked like he was moving into the opponent’s ploy, and could be tackled at any moment. And that is exactly what happened. As soon as the raider went for a touch, two defenders from Patna just pounced on him, not giving him any chance at all.

Having said that, during the Patna Pirates vs Telugu Titans match, Pawan became only the fifth player in the history of PKL to get to 1000 points. Before him, Pardeep Narwal, Maninder Singh, Rahul Chaudhari, and Deepak Hooda had achieved the feat.
