Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly is all geared up to participate in his first-ever auction. Ganguly, who will be at the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2024) Auctions for the Delhi Capitals, expressed his excitement on making it to the table for his debut auction. A total of five teams will fight for 165 players with just 30 slots to fill at the WPL 2024 Auction.

In a video uploaded by the Delhi Capitals on social media, Ganguly recounted that he joined the side in the last minute in 2022 and that while he helped in setting up the coaching staff, he couldn’t make it to the table. He further heaped praise on the side for their run in the previous edition of the WPL and said that it was unfortunate for the side to lose the finals. The Prince of Kolkata also offered an insight into DC’s strategy for the WPL 2024 auctions.
WPL 2024 auctions
A total of five teams will fight for 165 players with just 30 slots to fill. Out of the 30, only nine slots are open for overseas players. Franchises have only ₹17.65 Crore to spend on Saturday with Gujarat Giants having the highest purse amounting to Rs 5.95 Cr.
Out of 165 players, 61 are overseas players while 15 are from associate nations. In terms of experience, only 56 players are capped with 109 players yet to wear national colours.
