WPL 2024 Auction Live Broadcast: Sports18 to live telecast Women’s Premier League auction

WPL 2024 Auction Live Broadcast is all set to be on Sports18.

The stage is all set for the second edition of the Women’s Premier League as Mumbai Indians look to retain the trophy. With 30 slots available for five teams, including nine overseas, the WPL 2024 Auction is all set for Saturday, December 9th. The WPL 2024 Auction Live Broadcast will be on Sport18 and will start at 2.00 PM IST.

On the upcoming auction day in Mumbai, a total of 165 players are poised to be part of the bidding process. Among them, 104 are Indian cricketers, and 61 are from overseas, including 15 from associate nations. The player pool comprises 56 capped and 109 uncapped individuals. The five franchises collectively have the opportunity to secure a maximum of 30 slots, with nine reserved for overseas players.

The highest reserve price for the WPL 2024 auction stands at ₹50 lakh. The category is however featuring only two players, Deandra Dottin and Kim Garth. Additionally, four players, namely Shabnim Ismail, Annabel Sutherland, Georgia Wareham, and Amy Jones, have set their base price at ₹40 lakh.

WPL 2024 Auction Purse Remaining:

Among the five franchises participating , Gujarat Giants boast the highest available salary cap, standing at ₹5.95 crore. Gujarat has the flexibility to fill up 10 slots, with three designated for overseas players. Moving on, UP Warriorz hold purse of ₹4 crore, for five slots, including one overseas player.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have seven available slots for ₹3.35 crore, three of which can be filled by overseas players. Delhi Capitals, with a purse of ₹2.25 crore, can secure three players, only one of whom can be an overseas player. In contrast, defending champions Mumbai Indians have the smallest remaining salary cap at ₹2.1 crore. Despite the constraint, they can still fill up five slots, with one of them reserved for an overseas player.
