It has been a week since England Cricket Team star Ben Stokes had his surgery on his left knee. Now, the World Cup winner continues with his rehab and is keen to get back on the field. Surgery done, Rehab ongoing, what next? Ben Stokes is keen to get back his fitness and be ready for the upcoming India vs England (IND vs ENG) Test Series.
Ben Stokes had a successful surgery on his left knee last week in London and has begun his preparation to make his way into the England Cricket Team. The Three Lions will travel to India in January of 2024 to play a grueling 5-match Test series.
The priorities were set for Stokes. He decided to go under the knife post the ODI World Cup and target his comeback in the IND vs ENG series. Furthermore, he will miss IPL 2024 and will focus on the T20 World Cup. Subsequently, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) decided to release the player on IPL 2024 Retention Day.
Sharing his recovery and rehab update, Stokes posted a picture on social media. He posted a picture of his left leg, still strapped by bandages where the surgery took place. There was a distinct bruising in the area adjoining where the surgery took place and thus he wrote the caption “Bruising will always make its way down, yeah?” Stokes further added that bruising is normal following surgeries and he is fine.
India will take on England for their first Test match on 25th January in Hyderabad. This means that Stokes still has 1.5 months to be fit and ready for action. He cited workload management for opting out of IPL with his focus turned towards the T20 World Cup.
