Young pacer Kashvee Gautam on Saturday became an overnight sensation. Gautam was picked by Gujarat Giants for a whopping INR 2 crore in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 auction. The fast bowler also shattered the record of being the most expensive uncapped player. The Gujarat Giants fended off approaches from Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriorz to sign the talented fast bowler. After being snapped at such a high price, Gautam couldn’t hide her joy when the cameras caught up with her.
In a video uploaded by auction broadcaster JioCinema on X (previously Twitter), the 20-year-old thanked her team Gujarat Giants for providing her a chance to play with the franchise.

“Very excited to be a part of the Women’s Premier League. Thank you Gujarat Giants for picking me up, looking forward to the season,” Kashwee said.
Notably, Kashvee went unsold in the WPL 2023 auction. However, she provided some great performances with the ball in the previous season, leading to the bidding war between three teams for her services.
