Star Indian golfer Aditi Ashok produced a stupendous two-shot win over Anne Van Dam in the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de Espana (Spanish Open), the year-ending tournament on the Ladies European Tour, on Sunday. This was Aditi’s second title of the year, who had also won the season-opening tournament in Kenya. Aditi overall produced a 17-under par (69, 68, 68, 66 =271), ahead of Anne (69, 71, 65, 68= 273).
Another Indian in the fray, Diksha Dagar ended seventh with a score of (72, 71, 68, 67= 278).

“It started out slow, I was missing a lot of birdies for the first six to eight holes,” said Ashok. “I hit it close on seven, after that I felt like I still had a chance. Initially, it felt like I was two shots away the whole time. I’m glad it picked up on the back nine.
“It was a great battle. Anne [Van Dam], when she’s playing good, she can blow the field away and win by five to 10 shots. I knew I had to not stop making birdies and to keep trying.
