Erik Ten Hag has said that Mason Mount’s injury will set him back again. Mason Mount is dedicated to make it at Manchester United. He has been working hard ever since he joined the club. This Mason Mount injury is the second time he has gotten injured for the club. Erik Ten Hag says that Mount has been working really hard to overcome his injuries and get into the first team and start in the Premier League.

He said:

“There are reasons when you pick up injuries. The back four is not working, we have to make a lot of subs in the back four that have an affect on the balance of the midfield. The front players we have to make a lot of changes, so then the routines are not there. Still, I think he has had his moments where he did very well. But I think that stopped in the moment he got injured. He is a top professional. he is working very hard in training.”

The number of injuries picked up by Manchester United players has started to beg the question of why this is happening. Some people have started to question Ten Hag’s training tactics and methods. They are starting to question if Erik Ten Hag’s training sessions are too brutal on the players. This may be the underlying cause for United players picking up injuries. Erik Ten Hag had his say regarding this. The Dutch manager blamed the injuries on the congested fixture calendar.

He said:

“Last year we played the most games across Europe. Last year was a weird year with a World Cup in the middle of the season. But each year they keep adding games to the schedule. Next year they add two more games and we’ve already achieved the limits and gone across those limits that players can handle.”

“In the first 12 Premier League games the physical standards are even higher in comparison to last year. You have choices to make. Either you match it by training and preparation or you drop off. That is a decision that every club has to make, every team has to make and an individual has to make. You have to do it smart. Every team knows you have to suffer and sacrifice.”
