With less than 24 hours remaining for IPL 2024 Retention Day, the India Premier League clubs are now busy trading players before releasing their retained player lists. One such example is the trading of Mayank Dagar and Shabaz Ahmed ahead of IPL Retention Day.
Sunrisers Hyderabad has traded Mayank Dagar to Royal Challengers Bangalore. On the other hand, Shahbaz Ahmed has joined the orange army from the Bengalore outfits.
Dagar & Shahbaz Exchange
As per reports from Cricbuzz, the two southern clubs have arranged for an exchange. Mayank Dagar was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last IPL auction for a price of 1.8 crores. The 27-year-old all-rounder had a season to forget where he managed to play just 3 games for the Orange army.
The conditions were not different for Shahbaz Ahmed either. The Bengal player was scooped by Royal Challengers Bangalore back in 2022 for a price of 2.4 crores.
Royal Challengers Bangalore are in quite a fix about their player releases. Star spinner Wanindu Hasaranga is injured and will miss the entirety of IPL 2024. As a result, the Royal Challengers are thinking of parting with their ace spinner, to build up some cash and invest in further key players.
The next on the release list is likely to be Harshal Patel. The pacer has seen a dramatic drop in his performances and has failed to carry out his red-hot form.
