Derek Brunson’s PFL Debut Yields Retirement Contemplation After Successful UFC Stint

After nearly 11 years with the UFC, Derek Brunson harbors no ill feelings towards the organization. However, he believed it was the right moment to transition to the PFL. In his recent PFL debut, Brunson secured a victory against the former two-time welterweight champion Ray Cooper III.

Demonstrating dominance in the division, Brunson took control once the fight went to the canvas. The 39-year-old appears to have received a substantial paycheck for his debut in the smart-cage.

On X (formerly referred to as Twitter), Brunson posted a message on X, stating “I made so much cash 💰 tonight , I may never fight again . It’s been real guys 😂😂😂. PFL took care of your boy !!”

Brunson earned a substantial amount of money in PFL, and following his initial fight, he strongly indicated that he had garnered enough to consider retiring from fighting. He also expressed gratitude for the excellent treatment he received from PFL.
