The controversy between Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal has been going on since before the recently concluded World Cup. Despite, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) trying its best to resolve the issue, the dispute is yet to be resolved between Shakib and Tamim. Meanwhile, the heat between the two senior players from Bangladesh ended up being on a question paper in the country. However, the authenticity of the question paper is yet to be verified.
Shakib entered Tamim’s profile, says question paper
The debate between Shakib al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal ended up being on a question paper of the computer science and engineering department of United International University situated in Dhaka. The examinees were asked to answer a question covering Tamim’s relationship with Shakib and the role of BCB in the matter.
The question reads, “Shakib used BCB’s software. Shakib secretly saw Tamim’s profile. Shakib is very clever and cuts a pinch. Entering Tamim’s profile, Tamim himself wrote, ‘I will not play the World Cup.’ Shakib also saw the board president’s conversation with Tamim. Shakib changed Tamim’s username to ‘DotBaba’ (probably because he plays a lot of dot ball). The security of Tamim’s profile has been compromised in this incident. Explain how such incidents can be avoided.”
The feud between the two senior players unfolded after Bangladesh finalized its 15-member squad for the World Cup. To note, Tamim’s name was omitted from the World Cup list. While the BCB selectors revealed that the opener’s back injury as the reason, later on speaking to sports channel, Shakib revealed that Tamim refused to bat at No 3 spot.
Shakib even went on to call the opening batter ‘childish’ and said he isn’t a team player. The veteran also expressed his disappointment about Iqbal quitting the captaincy just couple of months before the World Cup, saying any such decision should have come early.
