The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced the India A squad for the upcoming T20 series against England A. Meanwhile, the team list of Indian squad was marred with spelling and other mistakes. To note, BCCI made spelling mistakes in the names of Shreyanka Patil & Kashvee Gautam. Apart from that, BCCI also associated Monica Patel with Karnataka state cricket body. However, Patel now represents the Railways in domestic cricket.

Minnu Mani to lead India

Meanwhile, Kerala cricketer C Minnu Mani was named the India Women team captain for the three-match T20I series against their England counterparts, beginning in Mumbai on November 29. The 24-year-old off-spinner is also the first cricketer from Kerala to lead an India ‘A’ Women side. Minnu, who hails from Wayanad, a district in Northern Kerala, has played four matches for India taking five wickets.

To note, India ‘A’ Women will play three matches against England ‘A’ Women. The series will start on November 29 with the next two matches to be played on December 1 and 3. All the matches will be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

India Women squad: C Minnu Mani (captain), Kanika Ahuja, Uma Chetry, Shreyanka Patil, G Trisha, Vrinda Dinesh, G Divya, Arushi Goel, Disha Kasat, Rashi Kanojiya, Mannat Kashyap, Anusha Bareddy, Monica Patel, G Kashavee, Jintimani Kalita, Prakashika Naik.
