Argentina star Lisandro Martinez and England star Luke Shaw’s injury update has been provided by Manchester United. Both the players were seen at Manchester United’s training ground. While Luke Shaw participated in the training and looked ready to make a return, the same cannot be said for Lisandro Martinez. Martinez was at Carrington just to watch the training.
Luke Shaw has been unavailable for the Red Devils since after the Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur in August. The England star’s backup Tyrell Malacia is also out injured. United signed Sergio Reguilon on loan from Tottenham to get some depth in the left-back position. Sergio Reguilon, Sofyan Amrabat, Diogo Dalot, and Victor Lindelof have all tried to play at the left-back position this season.
Luke Shaw has always been a very key player for Manchester United. The recent update on Luke Shaw’s injury will give the Red Devils a major boost.
While Manchester United have used several players as a makeshift left-back, none have been as effective as Shaw. The English defender contributed with his defensive as well as attacking skills. As per Goal.pl, Luke Shaw is back in training for the Red Devils. Manchester United will be very excited and happy to have him back.
Lisandro Martinez spotted at Manchester United’s training ground
The Argentina defender Lisandro Martinez has been unavailable for selection since United’s Champions League game against Bayern Munich. Martinez had originally injured his foot in a Europa League game against Sevilla in April. He was able to return in time for pre-season but his return was short lived. A recurrence of the metatarsal issue sidelined Lisandro Martinez again, and this time for a longer period of time.
Lisandro Martinez decided to go back to Argentina to recuperate from his surgery. The Argentina star, however, has now returned to Manchester. While he is back with the club, Martinez will not be available for selection for quite some time. United manager Erik Ten Hag said that it would be difficult to put an exact timescale on Martinez’s return but does not expect him to play before Christmas.
Erik Ten Hag said: “I have some time schedules but it’s always difficult to predict that because there can be setbacks during a rehab period. I’m always holding back a little bit on such issues. I expect some players back [soon] but Casemiro and Martinez are really strong injuries – I don’t expect them back before Christmas.”
