Suryakumar Yadav started his captaincy stint with a quickfire fifty in IND vs AUS 1st T20I in Visakhapatnam. Leading the Men in Blue in Hardik Pandya’s absence, SKY hit a 29-ball fifty to put India in a commanding position in a 209-run chase. But the World Number 1 batter couldn’t convert it to a hundred as he departed on 80 playing a stellar innings.

Suryakumar Yadav came at the crease when India were struggling at 22/2. The skipper took on Australian bowlers from the word go. He alongside Ishan Kishan stitched a brilliant 100-run partnership to completely puncture the Aussie bowling line-up.

Both Ishan Kishan and SKY stitched a strong partnership as the duo went hammer and tongs against the opposition. Kishan completed his fifty but was soon dismissed. SKY however continued his bashing and was ultimately dismissed on 80 in what was a breathtaking knock.

The partnership built by the destructive duo was enough as Rinku Singh & Axar Patel did the final touches he help India reach down the target. After 3 consecutive dismissals, India was set to chase 1 run off the last ball. Rinku Singh hit the ball for a six but a No-Ball from Sean Abbott meant India clinched a 2 wicket win.
