in Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2023 match between India Capitals and Urbanrisers Hyderabad.

Gurkeerat Singh, who scored a blistering 54-ball 89, was looking set for a century when Powell’s stunning take ended his innings.

On the fourth ball of the 18th over, Singh attempted a slog towards the deep mid-wicket off Munaf Patel’s delivery.

While it looked like a certain flat six, Powell made a full-length dive towards his right and plucked the ball with one hand.

India Capitals were reeling at 10/2 when skipper Suresh Raina (46) along with Gurkeerat Singh stitched a 92-run stand to put the team in driver’s seat.

Peter Trego played scored 20-ball 36 to power Hyderabad to 189 in 20 overs. For the India Capitals, Isuru Udana was the pick of the bowlers with a figure of 2/28 in four overs.

Chasing 190, India Capitals had a horrific start as they lost skipper Gautam Gambhir on duck. Hashim Amla didn’t stay for long either and was dismissed on 5. The side was reduced to 4/43 when Kevin Pietersen (77) and Powell (26) stitched a 72-run stand.

Ashley Nurse played a quickfire 41 but the side fell short by 3 runs in the end. Chris Mpofu has been the top bowler for Hyderabad so far with 2 wickets.
