Sir Alex Ferguson, the legendary Manchester United manager, has shared his opinion on Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s impending entrance as a minority stakeholder. The British billionaire is about to get a 25% stake in United worth £1.3 billion, with confirmation expected within the next week or two.

Ratcliffe will be in charge of a slew of adjustments as part of the football department’s strategic assessment. He has met virtually with United co-chairman Joel Glazer on suggested personnel changes to the club’s structure. Ferguson, however, feels the owner of OGC Nice can do excellent things at United.

“I am still a director of the club and I know Jim [Ratcliffe] well. We shall have to see what he does but I am optimistic.” said Sir Alex Ferguson speaking to Gambling Zone.

Shake-up at Manchester United

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the INEOS billionaire, is expected to complete his transaction with the Red Devils in the weeks to come. It will finally put an end to a tale that was supposed to terminate at the end of the 2022-23 campaign. The resulting uncertainty has been reflected in some dreadful performances on the pitch for Man United.

While Ferguson retains his boardroom position ahead of Ratcliffe’s arrival, other executives have not been so lucky. Behind the scenes, Britain’s richest man has begun a boardroom shake-up.

Richard Arnold, the company’s CEO, will step down before the end of the year. Director of football John Murtough is also likely to quit the club after ten years. However, it appears that manager Erik ten Hag’s position is secure for the time being.

As the Man United takeover saga goes on, the focus turns to improving on-field performance following a international breaj. Ten Hag’s Manchester United will play against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday as they look for a win.
