Team India star batter Virat Kohli has jumped to third spot in the International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI rankings after a superb World Cup 2023 campaign. Kohli was adjudged Player of the Tournament after amassing 765 runs in 11 games. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill has remained at the top spot with 826 points. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam continued to be in second place with 824 points.
During the World Cup, Kohli averaged a massive 95.62 with six fifties, three centuries to his name. The 35-year-old had a dream run in the tournament with the bat. Kohli broke multiple records during his juggernaut run with bat, including surpassing Sachin Tendulkar for most centuries in the ODI format.

Kohli held the No.1 ranking for a total of 1258 consecutive days during 2017 and 2021 period before Babar Azam took the premier position. However, the Pakistan’s skipper reign at top was ended last month when Gill claimed top spot during the World Cup.
With Kohli back in supreme form, the batter will be eyeing to reclaim the top spot in ICC ODI rankings.
