Ben Stokes – 16.25 crore (2023)

England’s Test captain Ben Stokes was the highest buy for the five-time IPL champions. Stokes is known for his all-round skills. He is one of the best all-rounders in the current lot. However, the English player was not able to make a huge impact as he got injured in the middle of the tournament in IPL 2023. There are chances that CSK will release Ben Stokes before the IPL 2024 Auction.

Deepak Chahar – 14 crore (2022)

In the auction 2022, Deepak Chahar was the most expensive buy for CSK. As the team did not retained him within four players, the management brought him in the auction. He was bought in 14 crore. Unfortunately, Chahar suffered an injury a month before the IPL began, which prevented him from playing in the competition.

Ravindra Jadeja – 9.72 crore (2012)

One of the best buys for the Dhoni-led team was Ravindra Jadeja in the year 2012. Since then, Jadeja is playing in the team. He was bidded in the highest price in that years auction with 9.72 crores. Jadeja has 152 wickets and 2,692 runs in IPL so far.

Krishnappa Gowtham – 9.25 crore (2021)

In the IPL 2021 auction, CSK surprised everyone with their buy. They bought a Karantaka’s Krishnappa Gowtham for 9.25 crore as a all-rounder. Interestingly, Gowtham did not play a single match of the season. Moeen Ali was chosen as the off-spinning all-round player ahead of Gowtham.

Kedar Jadhav – 7.8 crore (2018)
